Saturday 2nd July from 12.30pm onwards
The picnic is almost here, just need the weather to cheer up a bit!
If you have never been along to a meet up with other type one’s then this is the one you must come to. It is totally informal, run by diabetics, for diabetics. I find I learn a lot more from other PWD than I do any HCP I have come across so far.
Whether you have had T1D for many years or are newly diagnosed you are certain to enjoy the day.
This is a great opportunity to meet others, forge friendships and have a great day out in the process
The picnic venue
After having the past 7 or 8 meet ups over the winter we thought it would be nice to get outside for this one.
We have decided Regents Park would be a great setting to meet up and have a fun afternoon/evening
We will be meeting at Chester gate at 12.30pm, then wander over to Cumberland Green area of the park for the picnic
Regent’s Park Tube Station – 4 minutes walk
Great Portland Street Tube Station- 5 minutes walk
Camden Road Overground Station- 20 minutes walk
Euston Railway Station- 9 minutes walk
What should you bring?
If you are planning to come along it would be great if you could bring a bit of food and drink for yourselves.
Also if you have picnic blankets, cups etc it will make the afternoon more enjoyable for you
Do not feel you have to bring food and drinks, if you just want to pop along to meet others then that’s fine too. However once you are there and enjoying yourself, I bet you will pop off to the local shop and get some anyway!!
As we are just T1D, the same as you, and not a charity organisation we have no funding for these events. It is you, the PWD, who make these meetups so good. With that in mind if you do bring food or drinks along, why not make an extra couple of bits too, sharing is caring!!
If there are any budding bakers coming, cakes always go down well, especially low carb ones!
Join our Facebook group for future events and updates
Take care and we will see you there
